As Jan & Peter were fresh off of a grueling cruise week and a few days each in Amsterdam and Paris, they were quite happy to hang around and catch their breath, starting with the sleep of the dead in their shutter-darkened room. After a late breakfast, we introduced them to our beach. Again, we had to wear jackets as the temperature had dropped from yesterday and the sun was hiding. The tide was way out, resulting in quite the trek to get to the water’s edge. As we did the previous week, we had to wade in.
Janice liked my shell collection and wanted to do some beach combing. Off we went to Plage Royau, just down the road, for a little hunting and climbing.
Back in the car, we drove the coast to Perros-Guirec, where we stopped at “our café” – Café de la Marine Chez Titine – for a beverage and some people watching. Peter, of course, was slightly more interested in the marina and did a little hunting of his own. Although he came back empty-handed, we did find out where Captain Jack is hiding these days…
The final stop on their orientation was the Quai des Iles, our new favourite creperie at our beach. Peter was introduced to their moules (mussels) and is now a convert. I chose to have their house burger and it was delicious – freshly ground and seasoned meat, with lettuce, tomatoes, and the most fabulous and drippy orange sauce that I got all over my face trying to eat the thing. Too bad (thank goodness?) there wasn’t a camera in sight.
By the time we finished dinner, the tide was completely in and there was hardly any beach left. Tides are fascinating.
Read them all so far Maureen.
Looks like a great trip and I am very jealous 🙂
