Art Camp – Haliburton – Addendum

Friday, August 9, 2013

OK, so it’s been a month since we returned from adult camp in Haliburton and I’ve been remiss in updating my final projects.

Did I mention we had to rent a small U-Haul trailer to get Burton home?  He fit quite nicely into the back of my Forester but, with all the other stuff we had to bring with us, there was no more room available for him.  I didn’t really think that through when I signed up for that course…   At first we thought we’d just leave him at the bunky for a bit (landlords wanted him, anyway) but that would have cost us a tank of gas and a very full and tiring day up and back.  So, for only $51, including insurance, we packed up the U-Haul with wire birds and the extra painting canvases Steve bought.

It took me a couple of weeks, but I finally “dressed” Burton and he has assumed a proud position, along with Hali, in our garden.

Bunky, who looks more like a duck, is painted black (so very hard to see) and can’t seem to stay upright!  He is sleeping on the ground, near the rock, in the first photo, and is propped up against the rock in the second one.  I must do something about his inability to stand on his own two feet…

Steve was kind enough to tape my Ukulele concert and found some time to download and upload this little event.  It ended up in two parts, which could be a good thing if you get to the point of thinking you’re at your kid’s first music concert and want to bail…

The files are too big to embed here, so I’ve provided the link.  (if it doesn’t work, copy and paste into your browser)  If you want to watch them in the right order, part 1 is the second video…  Keep in mind, we are beginners!!! but we don’t sound TOO bad.

Until my next adventure…
