France 2015 – Brittany – Wednesday, June 10 – Le Gouffre Encore

Well, that was a whirl-wind 2 days and we were happy to take it easy this morning.  Besides, it rained overnight and it was dull and cloudy this morning – perfect for being lazy.

This afternoon, we brought Jan and Peter to Le Gouffre.  The tide was not as high as last week’s visit, so the waves were not as angry, but it was windier if that’s even possible.  It was still spectacular (I think I’ve used that word frequently over the past few weeks, but it is appropriate!)

We took all kinds of back roads/lanes to get there, and got lost a few times despite our GPS.  It was especially interesting when we met 2 tractors coming from the other direction. Talk about a tight squeeze…  At least no one was doing 90km (which is very typical).

Jan made salmon and potatoes for dinner and we bought more artichokes because Steve and I had talked about the “experiment” and they wanted to try them, too, complete with aioli.  Consensus = okay, dip was great, probably won’t do this again.  We were still totally confused about what to do when you get to the middle, despite Mr. Google.  I need Caroline to educate me.  Steve had bought chocolate and mocha éclairs for dessert.  I ate my chocolate one and am saving my mocha one for breakfast – because I can.
